Workforce Development (CDL Training)

A Knock At Midnight has implemented a workforce development program called, Skill-Up 2 Change, to offer Young Adults (between 18 – 24 Years Old), opportunities to gain hard skills that will increase their chance of becoming employable in career pathways that offer sustainable employment opportunities in the hopes of changing their lives.

We offer four vocational training programs that lead to industry recognized certifications:

    • Forklift Operator
    • Unarmed Security

Upon completion of each certification, AKAM offers job referral and job coaching services.

Enrollment requirements for all workforce development programs include:

    • Must Be Between 18 – 24 Years Old
    • Have A High School Diploma (Preferred, but not necessary)
    • Be Self-Motivated
    • Have An Interest In Preferred Vocational Program

Young Adults who are enrolled in our programs participate in Life Skills Classes, Financial Literacy Workshops, and Job Readiness Training.

The framework behind the name of our organization came from a sermon titled “A Knock At Midnight” preached by the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr
