Workforce Development (Culinary Arts)

A Knock At Midnight‘s Culinary Arts Program prepares Students (18 – 26 Years Old) for a Career in the Food Service and Culinary Arts Industries.

The Food Service and Culinary Arts Curriculum includes:

    • Instruction in Food Preparation
    • Safe Food Handling
    • Storage & Serving of Food
    • Cash Handling
    • Customer Service
    • Workplace Safety

The Work Readiness Curriculum includes:

    • Basic Life Skills
    • Resume Writing
    • Workplace Professionalism
    • Mock Interviews
    • Work Ethics
    • Basic Computer Skills
    • Communications
    • Financial Management

Program Participants will be prepared to test for the following industry certifications:

    • Nationally Recognized Servsafe Food Protection Manager
    • Nationally Recognized OSHA 10 Restaurant Safety
    • City of Chicago 10 Restaurant Industry
    • FTF Culinary Arts
    • FTF Soft Skills Training

The framework behind the name of our organization came from a sermon titled “A Knock At Midnight” preached by the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr
